This esteemed recognition is part of the publication’s Readers’ Choice poll, a nationwide contest celebrating the finest markets across the country.

A tradition of excellence

For the past three consecutive years, the City of West Palm Beach’s Market has clinched the top spot, setting a high standard in the realm of farmers markets nationwide. 

Now, as they eye a fourth consecutive victory, Market organizers are rallying public support to secure their esteemed position.

Community call to action

Mayor Keith A. James expressed his gratitude, stating, “We’re honored to once again be nominated as one of the best farmers markets in the U.S.”

He emphasized the Market’s growth, with this season boasting the highest number of vendors yet, along with enhanced entertainment and activities for attendees. 

Mayor James urged supporters to cast their votes daily until Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EDT, echoing the rallying cry: “help us grow to four in a row.”

A nationally recognized event

A panel of food and travel experts curated the top 20 farmers markets, paving the way for the public to determine the ultimate victors. 

The final rankings will be unveiled on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

From humble beginnings to community staple

Mary Pinak, the community events manager for the City of West Palm Beach, reflected on the Market’s evolution since its inception in 1995. 

What started as a modest gathering has blossomed into a beloved Saturday tradition, fostering community engagement and supporting local businesses. 

As the Market approaches its 30th season, Pinak expressed gratitude for the continued recognition, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone of community life.

Celebrating growth and diversity

As the 29th season draws to a close on April 30, 2024, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket celebrates its largest iteration yet, boasting over 125 vendors, including 30 newcomers. 

The Market’s core mission remains steadfast: to provide the community with access to fresh, locally sourced produce and agricultural products. 

Notably, the GreenMarket has garnered praise from esteemed publications like The Boston Globe and Cooking Light magazine, which crowned it the premier green market in Florida.
