With over 23 years of experience in education—including eight years as a teacher and twelve as an assistant principal at Miami Southridge, Homestead, and Miami Norland Senior High Schools—Hall has served as principal of Leisure City K-8 since 2019. During his tenure, he has led the school to its highest-ever academic achievements and introduced an eight-period school day. Hall also expanded advanced academic opportunities through dual enrollment programs with Miami Dade College and the Cambridge International Program.

Hall has been instrumental in broadening access to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, enhancing student engagement through initiatives in arts and robotics. He fosters leadership by mentoring teachers into instructional and administrative roles, and has strengthened community connections through programs addressing food insecurity, such as the Backpack Program and Mobile Food Market. Additionally, family-centered events like Daddy-Daughter and Mother-Son dances have reinforced the school’s role as a welcoming community hub.

Known for his compassionate leadership style, Hall personally greets students by name daily, supports youth through personal crises, and offers comfort to families facing tragedy. His professional accolades include the Florida Tax Watch Principal Leadership Award, the Cahn Fellowship Program, and participation in leadership programs at FIU and Harvard University. Hall also serves as CEO of The Coleman Foundation and advises Caring for Miami and Raising a Village Foundation.

The Miami-Dade School Board resolution honors Walter C. Hall for his exceptional leadership, dedication, and transformative impact on education and community. As Principal of the Year, Hall exemplifies visionary and community-centered educational leadership committed to challenging and nurturing every student.
