As the City of Tamarac approaches its 60th Incorporation Anniversary on Wednesday, July 19, preparations are in full swing for the extravagant Tamarac Shines Bright Like A Diamond 60th Anniversary Bash.
The city plans to mark this significant achievement by paying tribute to five influential residents whose unwavering vision and commitment have been instrumental in molding today’s Tamarac into the dynamic and flourishing “City For Your Life.”
All community members are invited to the grand anniversary party, slated to take place at the Tamarac Community Center, located at 8601 W Commercial Blvd.
The schedule for Tamarac’s 60th anniversary bash
The festive evening, scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m., promises a nostalgic look back at Tamarac’s history, live music performed by the Fabulons, lively dancing, and naturally, the traditional birthday cake. Interested attendees must pre-register for this complimentary community event.

Unveiling Tamarac’s commemorative public art piece
The Tamarac Public Art Committee, maintaining its customary practice, will acknowledge this landmark event with a special public art piece. Titled “One Love,” the digital artwork created by DJ Chery is set to make its public debut during the 60th Anniversary Bash.
Chery’s “One Love” was chosen from submissions to the Public Art Committee’s open call to local artists, and was the standout piece among five final entries as determined by the Tamarac City Commission.
Countdown to 60: Tamarac’s community events leading to anniversary bash
In anticipation of the 60th Anniversary, the City of Tamarac has held numerous community events.
The series of festivities leading to the main birthday celebration kicked off on May 20 with the One Tamarac Multicultural Festival. This was followed by the Dive-in Movie event on June 23, the traditional All-American Celebration on July 4, and the nostalgic Party Like It’s 1963 Seniors Program Dance on July 12.
The extensive city-wide merriment is set to wrap up with the Vintage Family Fun Day at Mainlands Park, scheduled for Saturday, September 23.
