The Seminole Tribe has unveiled the full-scale launch of its mobile sports betting app, granting access to Floridians across the state.
The official announcement was made on Tuesday.
Gradual rollout
Reports are that the Hard Rock Bet app had experienced a limited launch in November.
Initially, it catered exclusively to existing customers who had previously engaged with it during its brief introduction in 2021, in addition to new customers on a waitlist.
Legal tussles looming large
However, amidst this triumphant launch, the Seminole Tribe faces two legal challenges from rival betting companies, both keen on putting a halt to the tribe’s sports betting.
One lawsuit was presented to the Florida Supreme Court, while the other has been presented before the U.S. Supreme Court.
U.S. Supreme Court weighs in
Reports are that the U.S. Supreme Court has already rendered a verdict regarding this contentious matter. It rejected an attempt to block the implementation of a deal, also known as the Gaming Compact, which allows the tribe to offer online sports betting, craps, and roulette.
Return of in-person betting
Adding to the Seminole Tribe’s multifaceted gaming landscape, the tribe had previously disclosed that in-person sports betting would stage its comeback on December 7th.
This development will unfold at all three Seminole Casinos located in South Florida.
