New privacy wall coming to Sistrunk Boulevard in Broward Municipal Services District

A new 900-foot-long, 8-foot-tall privacy wall will be installed along Sistrunk Boulevard, east of NW 31st Avenue, beginning Monday, July 7, 2025, as part of a Broward County Public Works project to improve infrastructure in the Broward Municipal Services District.

The project, funded through gas tax revenues, is scheduled for completion by September 2025, weather permitting. According to the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division, the scope of work includes removing the current deteriorated wall and replacing it with a structure similar in design to the one used in the nearby Franklin Park neighborhood.

To minimize disruption to local residents, a temporary privacy fence will be erected during construction. After the new wall is built, the area will be restored to ensure a clean and finished appearance.

Traffic impacts will be limited. At least one eastbound lane of Sistrunk Boulevard will remain open throughout the duration of the project. Temporary single-lane closures may occur during off-peak hours, but full road closures are not expected. Westbound lanes will remain open at all times. Pedestrians will be rerouted to the opposite sidewalk, and all driveways will remain accessible.

Broward County officials thank the community for its patience during the course of this necessary improvement project.
