As the 2024–2025 academic year winds down, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has announced a revised dismissal schedule for the final three days of the school year.
The last day of classes is Thursday, June 5, and from June 3 to June 5, students across the district will be released earlier than usual to allow teachers additional time to wrap up end-of-year responsibilities.
According to the district, early dismissal will apply to all elementary, middle, and senior high schools:
-
Elementary Schools and K-8 Centers: Dismissal at 1:50 p.m.
-
Middle Schools: Dismissal at 2:40 p.m.
-
Senior High Schools: Dismissal at 12:30 p.m.
The adjusted schedule aims to give educators adequate time to finalize grades, complete administrative tasks, and prepare their classrooms for the summer break. The district is encouraging families to make any necessary arrangements to accommodate the earlier pickup times.
Parents and guardians should also check with their individual schools for any campus-specific updates or variations in after-school programming during this period.
Miami-Dade Schools, the nation’s fourth-largest school district, will officially close out the academic year on June 5, marking the start of summer break for more than 300,000 students.
