Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Miami-Dade County District 9 Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee will break ground on the next phase of Quail Roost Station, a new affordable housing development for older adults On Wednesday, August 14, at 11:00 a.m. The new development will provide direct access to public transportation and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, with a third phase starting in 2025. This second phase will be part of a six-phase revival effort to enhance the entire community.
This new phase will include 124 units dedicated for seniors, comprised of 36 studios, 72 one-bedroom units, and 16 two-bedroom units. These affordable units will consist of 20 units set aside at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI), 44 units at or below 60% of the AMI, and 60 units at or below 70% of the AMI. Phase One started in 2020 with 200 units.
Amenities will include a community room, business center, fitness center, and onsite laundry facilities. Adult literacy classes, employment assistance, and financial management program classes will also be offered to residents.
Miami-Dade County awarded Quail Roost Station a $4.96 million grant from Surtax funding.
