Investigation underway after student shot near Miami-Dade high school 

Law enforcement authorities are probing a shooting incident that occurred near Northwestern Senior High School in Miami-Dade, following a Thursday night sporting event.

Reports are that the shooting occurred in the vicinity of Northwest 12th Avenue and 71st Street, close to the school, triggering a swift response from local officials.

Student injured

A student sustained a gunshot wound during the incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Significant police presence was observed in the area after the shooting.

The incident occurred after Northwestern’s basketball game against Central High School.

Authorities have not released information about the events leading up to the shooting, the student’s identity, or any suspects in custody.
