In celebration of Arbor Day, Councilwoman Linda Julien is hosting a tour of City Hall to educate 3rd and 4th-grade students from Bunche Park Elementary School about the role of local government and the importance of sustainability to the community.
The tour is aimed at educating young students about the significance of Arbor Day and how they can contribute to the preservation of the environment.
Arbor Day is a special occasion that serves as a reminder of the importance of trees in our lives such as clean air, natural beauty, and creating a healthy environment. By planting trees and taking care of them, we can create a greener, more sustainable future for generations to come.
During the tour, Councilwoman Julien will show the students around City Hall and its various departments, including Public Works, which houses the City’s Keep Miami Gardens Beautiful program that promotes environmental sustainability in the community.
Additionally, students will get an intimate tour of the City’s Real-Time Crime Center, operated by the Police Department. In addition, each child will be gifted a small token of materials that will jumpstart their environmental responsibility journey.
“This is a great opportunity for the youth of our City to come and experience how government works. My goal is to pour into our future leaders and expose them to as many pathways to success as possible,” said Councilwoman Linda Julien.
This initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage the next generation to take an active role in preserving the planet.
