The alleged incident unfolded within the confines of an assisted living facility nestled along Southwest 79th Terrace.

Allegations surface

The arrest came following reports outlined in an official statement, revealing an account of maltreatment endured by an elderly resident under Josephine Gurri’s care.

Reports are that officers met with a woman who said her grandmother has been living in the facility and has been beaten and abused by her caretaker, Gurri.

Video evidence unveiled

Adding weight to the allegations, the woman disclosed that she received a video from a previous caretaker.

The footage purportedly captured Gurri delivering blows to her grandmother’s buttocks and lower back.

Legal proceedings

After her apprehension, Gurri was processed and booked into detention.

Her appearance in bond court the following day saw her granted a $1,000 bond.

Additionally, she was ordered to stay clear of the alleged victim.
