The Broward Education Foundation has announced a first-of-its-kind partnership with SponsorPlace, a new platform designed to streamline school sponsorships and generate revenue for educational programs.
This innovative collaboration makes Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) the first school district in the nation to implement a district-wide sponsorship management system, connecting local businesses directly with schools.
The initiative will benefit school programs in athletics, performing arts, PTAs, and special events, allowing all BCPS schools—regardless of size or location—to attract community support more efficiently.
“The SponsorPlace initiative represents a vital opportunity to foster greater engagement between local businesses, the educational community, and the students of Broward County,” said Dr. Howard Hepburn, Superintendent of Broward County Public Schools. “We believe in the power of community collaboration to improve educational outcomes and are excited to play a role in ensuring every student in Broward County can reach their full potential.”
SponsorPlace, developed by Campus Multimedia, the national leader in K–12 brand activation, acts as a centralized digital marketplace. It simplifies the sponsorship process and reduces the administrative burden on school staff, giving schools autonomy while maintaining district oversight.
“SponsorPlace has elevated the way we approach strategic partnerships and resource development across Broward County,” said James A. Knapp, President & CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “This new platform empowers schools with the autonomy they need, while giving district leaders structure and transparency to build trust and deliver an impact.”
Key Features of SponsorPlace:
-
Equal Access: Every school can showcase and sell sponsorship opportunities, regardless of its geographic or economic standing.
-
Ease of Use: Staff can quickly set up “storefronts” for businesses to browse sponsorship options.
-
Transparency & Control: Schools manage their own relationships while district leaders can oversee activities for compliance and reporting.
“Schools need funding to run strong programs, but finding support takes time and resources many districts just don’t have,” said Karl Mawhinney, CEO of Campus Multimedia. “Meanwhile, local businesses want to support schools and be seen in their communities. SponsorPlace bridges that gap—making it easy to create measurable, meaningful sponsorships that benefit everyone.”
Success Story: South Plantation High School
South Plantation High School (SPHS) is already seeing results. Without traditional outreach, SPHS:
-
Created a digital storefront through SponsorPlace.
-
Added a QR code to school maps distributed at Parent Night.
-
Sold three carline banner ads in a short time, turning everyday exposure into income.
“We love our SponsorPlace page. It’s easy to track money coming in, and it’s exciting every time we see another sale,” said Ricardo Marino, Assistant Principal of Western High School, formerly of SPHS.
This partnership marks a transformative step in how school districts can engage their communities, raise funds, and support programs that benefit students directly.
