This marks the hospital’s second consecutive “A” grade, following the Spring 2024 assessment, and distinguishes it as the only hospital in its primary service area to achieve this top rating for the fall.

Leapfrog evaluates hospitals nationwide, assigning grades from A to F based on over 30 measures of safety, including medical errors, injuries, infections, and the systems in place to prevent them.

“This second consecutive ‘A’ grade demonstrates our consistency in providing safe and exceptional healthcare to all our patients at Broward Health North,” said Matthew Garner, CEO of Broward Health North. “We have an unwavering commitment to prioritizing patient safety and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, updated biannually in the fall and spring, is the only national ratings system focused solely on preventable harm in healthcare settings. Peer-reviewed and publicly accessible, it sheds light on hospital safety practices and their impact on patients.

Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, praised the hospital’s achievement. “Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Broward Health North. It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Broward Health North, its leadership, clinicians, staff, and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”

This recognition underscores their commitment to fostering a culture of safety and delivering high-quality care for its community.
