Governor Albert Bryan of the U.S. Virgin Islands has confirmed that three members of his administration—two former cabinet members and one current member—are likely to face federal indictments in connection with a fraud and bribery case.
Although Bryan did not identify the individuals involved, he expressed concern over the matter while stressing the importance of due process. He acknowledged that each individual is entitled to a fair legal process and emphasized his commitment to respecting that principle as the case unfolds. This development adds to concerns about corruption within the territory’s government.
“As Governor, I remain committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics and accountability within my administration. These values guide our work and will continue to do so as this matter unfolds. My administration will cooperate fully with federal authorities as necessary.”
Governor Albert Bryan further addressed the situation, emphasizing that the alleged actions of the individuals involved do not reflect the broader commitment and dedication of the many public servants who work hard for the benefit of the Virgin Islands. He reaffirmed that his primary focus remains on serving the people of the territory with integrity and transparency.
Bryan also reiterated his administration’s commitment to ethical governance, asserting that the developments related to the indictments would not distract from their ongoing efforts to improve the lives of Virgin Islanders. Despite the troubling allegations, he stressed that the administration’s work and dedication to the community would continue undeterred.
