After several months of intelligence work, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service culminated their efforts with the confiscation of a significant arsenal on Wednesday.
The police seized thirty-five firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
The weapons included AR-15 and M16 rifles, mini Uzi submachine guns, formidable 50 calibre rifles, and 12-gauge shotguns.
The cache of weapons also included 100 magazines.
Unprecedented ammunition seizure
The operation also led to the recovery of a variety of ammunition types, including 7.62mm, 5.56mm, and notably the 6.5mm Creedmoor armor-piercing rounds.

Highlighting the scale of the operation, Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher noted that this incident marks the largest seizure of illegal firearms in Trinidad and Tobago’s history.
