The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has reported that a retired airline pilot from the United States has been arrested and charged for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Reports are that Richard Cyrus Lockman, a 66-year-old citizen of Minnesota, faced charges after a check at Maurice Bishop International Airport led to the discovery of a Smith & Wesson 9mm Pistol and four rounds of ammunition in his luggage.
Search leads to more ammunition on yacht
Following the airport discovery, RGPF officers accompanied Lockman to his yacht at La Phare Bleu, St George.
A thorough search revealed 23 rounds of ammunition and six warheads.
Court appearance and guilty plea
Lockman appeared before the St George’s Magistrate’s Court on January 15. He pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against him.
He was fined EC$4,000, which was paid.
