In an operation conducted jointly with the Guyana Defence Force, law enforcement authorities revealed the destruction of more than $6 billion worth of marijuana.
Police said last week Friday that the massive haul was uncovered on a marijuana farm, spanning over 10 acres in the remote Gaetroy community in Upper Berbice River.
Discovery during operation
The operation, sparked by an anonymous tip, yielded an astonishing find—over 6,000 marijuana plants and a staggering 8,000 pounds of dried marijuana were seized from the location.
The police said no one was found at the scene. It further reported that all of the marijuana found along with the farm, a wooden house, and two camps were destroyed by law enforcement officials.
The police said the estimated value of the destroyed marijuana was GUY$3.2 billion.
