In Barbados, the unlawful sexual intercourse case against deputy speaker of the House of Assembly, Neil Rowe, has been adjourned to March 20 after he made an appearance in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court on Monday with a new lawyer.

Rowe, 43 has been charged with having unlawful sexual intercourse with a female without her consent, or was reckless as to whether she consented, on September 18, 2022.

Last October, when he appeared before Magistrate Deidre McKenna, Rowe was represented by King’s Counsel Roger Forde. But on Monday, he was represented by a battery of lawyers including Kings Counsels Ralph Thorne and Michael Lashley.

Neil Rowe, who was not required to plead to the indictable charges on his previous appearance, continues on BDS$10,000 bail (One Barbados dollar=US$0.50 cents).
