British Airways cancels flights in St. Lucia and Guyana leaving hundreds of passengers stranded

The Ministry of Public Works in Guyana is actively addressing the disruption caused by the cancellation of British Airways flight BA 2159 on Monday, December 30th. The flight, which was grounded due to unexpected mechanical issues, left passengers stranded in both St. Lucia and Georgetown.

In response, the ministry is working closely with the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation to find timely solutions for the affected travelers. Efforts are being made to ensure that passengers are rebooked and provided with the necessary assistance during this disruption.

The Ministry of Public Works says they are also in direct contact with British Airways officials to expedite assistance and provide passengers with the latest updates on their travel arrangements. British Airways has confirmed that they are working diligently to resolve the issue and ensure that passengers are rebooked and transported to their intended destinations as quickly as possible.

The airline is exploring multiple options to accommodate all affected travelers and minimize further delays, aiming to offer a smooth resolution to the situation.
