Vybz Kartel cracks Billboard Rhythmic Top 5 chart

Vybz Kartel has reached a new career milestone, landing in the Top 5 of Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart for the first time thanks to his appearance on PBT by Travis Scott, which also features Tyla. The track climbed from No. 7 to No. 5 this week, marking Kartel’s highest placement yet on the chart.

“PBT” appears on the 17-track Jackboys 2 compilation, released July 13 via Cactus Jack Records and Epic Records. The project brings together a heavy-hitting lineup including Future, Playboi Carti, NBA YoungBoy, GloRilla, 21 Savage and Bun B—placing Kartel in rare company within a mainstream hip-hop release.

The momentum around “PBT” has also extended beyond radio. A recently released music video has helped push the song further into pop-culture conversation, amplifying Kartel’s visibility with audiences far outside traditional dancehall spaces.

The Top 5 breakthrough becomes Kartel’s fifth Billboard song chart entry overall. His earlier appearances include Pon De Floor with Major Lazer (No. 41 on Dance Digital Song Sales in 2010), Ramping Shop with Spice (No. 76 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs), and Fever, a certified-gold hit that peaked at No. 36 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and No. 23 on Rap Airplay.

Kartel has also enjoyed recent Rhythmic Airplay success as part of a Caribbean-forward collaboration. You Remind Me by DJ Khaled, featuring Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, RorystoneLove and Kaylan, reached No. 25 on the chart two months ago—further underlining Kartel’s renewed international reach through strategic collaborations.
