Grammy-nominated, multi/ billboard songwriter Vision Alexander has made a name for himself as one of Jamaica’s most prolific songwriters of his generation. After a decade of writing songs for the likes of Teyana Taylor, Lila Ike, Jesse Royal, and others, the Grammy-award-winning songwriter has picked up the mic. Turning his pen to his career.
Vision Alexander is releasing his new single titled “Beautiful”. A melodic, lyrically-infused afro-reggae track produced by Art Hause Media producers. Art Hause’s portfolio includes the late Platinum Hip Hop billboard recording artist XXXTentacion and Grammy-winning producer Sean Alaric.
Vision Alexander: The Songwriter
Vision Alexander has had great success as a songwriter working with some of Reggae MMusics’top international recording artists. Such as the likes of Jesse Royal, Protoje, Lila Ike, Julian Marley, Jo Mersa Marley, Morgan Heritage, and Jermere Morgan just to name a few. Songs like “Rich Forever” by Jesse Royal, “Switch it Up” by Proteje and Koffee, and Lila Ike’s “Dinero” have garnered much success as a result of Vision Alexanders’ lyrical prowess.

He has also achieved accomplishments outside of Reggae Music, working with internationally RnB recording artist Teyana Taylor. As a co-writer on her last body of work titled “The Album” it placed #1 on the RnB billboard charts and #8 on the top 200 U.S billboard charts. Vision also scored big on his first grammy nomination with Jesse Royals, sophomore album “Royal”.
“Music is very spiritual for me, and I believe that all of us, as musicians, have a part to play when making a joyful noise unto the Almighty’s lands. Now is my time to contribute to that mission, but as an artist.”
“I will continue to write music for other recording artists; that won’t change. Get used to hearing songs coming from Vision Alexander,” he explained while being interviewed by the Jamaica Observer.
South Florida’s Own
As a resident of South Florida, Vision Alexander, whose real name is Simon Mitchell takes much of his inspiration from the Caribbean diaspora and his peers who have also made strides in Music.

Vision Alexander wrote the reggae-inspired Bad, featured on Taylor’s The Album. Bad was co-produced by Jamaican Sean Alaric and MIXX – both of whom are his close friends and also residents of South Florida.
“I grew up with MIXX and he was working on Teyana’s album. He reached out and said they wanted some stuff added to the project, so I just added some melodies and words to the track and that’s how the collaboration with Teyana came about,” Vision Alexander explained.

Vision Alexander hopes that his latest single Beautiful will garner his recognition as an artiste as well as expand his portfolio as a songwriter. Having accomplished so much already. There’s always room for growth.
“Songwriting allows me to showcase the majority of my talent apart from actually performing the songs. But that’s why I am now stepping into the artiste field to experience that feeling of seeing thousands of people singing along to my music with me as the artiste,” he said.
