The track, which features fellow Jamaican music legends Shaggy and Sean Paul, is from her Grammy-nominated album 10 and has solidified its status as a dancehall anthem. Certified platinum earlier this year by Music Canada, “Go Down Deh” has surpassed 80,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents, cementing its place as the decade’s biggest dancehall hit.

Produced by Shaggy and Constantin “Costi” Ioniță, “Go Down Deh” has resonated worldwide, racking up over 280 million views on YouTube and over 240 million streams on Spotify. The song’s infectious rhythm, catchy lyrics, and powerhouse trio have propelled it to the forefront of global dancehall music, earning critical and commercial success.

Spice took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone, sharing her gratitude with fans and shouting out her collaborators. “Big up my hero @direalshaggy @duttypaul,” she posted, also giving thanks to VP Records for their unwavering support. Her acknowledgment underscores the collaborative effort that brought the song to life and its far-reaching impact.

The official music video for “Go Down Deh,” directed by Jay Will, has played a significant role in its success, with its visually captivating production amplifying the song’s appeal. This platinum certification is Spice’s first in Canada, a testament to her expanding global influence and the crossover appeal of dancehall.

Spice, who continues to blaze new trails in her career, recently released the single “Sitt’n Fi Chat” with VP Records, celebrating her 25 years in dancehall. This release follows her latest album, Mirror 25, which showcases her enduring talent and adaptability in the evolving music scene. The platinum achievement for “Go Down Deh” adds another chapter to her legacy, reinforcing her status as a leading figure in the genre.
