Grammy-winning Jamaican reggae artist Koffee has added another international certification to her résumé, with her breakout hit Toast achieving gold status in France.

The eight-year-old track earned the certification after accumulating more than 15 million streams in the country, according to France's Syndicat national de l'édition phonographique (SNEP). The certification was issued Monday.

The latest milestone adds France to a growing list of markets where Toast has achieved certification. The song was previously certified platinum in the United Kingdom after surpassing the equivalent of 600,000 units in sales and streams and has also earned gold certification in Canada.

Released in 2018, Toast became Koffee's international breakthrough and helped propel the then-teenage Spanish Town native onto the global reggae scene.

Produced by IzyBeats, with Walshy Fire also credited as a producer, the gratitude-centered track was later included on Koffee's five-track debut EP, Rapture, released in March 2019.

The song also found success on several international charts. In the United Kingdom, Toast peaked at No. 70 on the Official Singles Chart, while in the United States it reached No. 24 on Billboard's Rap Airplay chart, No. 37 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and No. 47 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

Its popularity has endured well beyond its initial release. The official music video, released in November 2018, has amassed more than 289 million views on YouTube.

Toast also played a major role in the success of Rapture, which won Best Reggae Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020. The victory made Koffee, born Mikayla Simpson, the first woman and, at 19, the youngest artist to win the category.

The EP debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart, further establishing Koffee as one of the leading young artists to emerge from Jamaica in recent years.

The French certification comes nearly eight years after Toast first introduced Koffee to a much wider international audience and underscores the song's continued popularity years after its release.
