The energy of Caribbean music will again thunder through the iconic Barclays Center this summer when Reggae Fest Massive takes center stage on Saturday, August 30. With an impressive lineup of dancehall heavyweights and reggae icons already confirmed, the show promises to be one of the biggest Caribbean stage shows in the tri-state and certainly across the US this year.
Dancehall lovers can look forward to explosive performances from veteran performers Tanto Metro & Devonte, Tony Matterhorn, TOK, Mr. Vegas and Elephant Man, as well as deliveries from Dancehall’s younger acts Alkaline and Shenseea, anchored by Roots Reggae Champion Capleton—with one major surprise still under wraps. The event’s headline act will be revealed live on the night, a move that’s adding an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to an already stacked bill.
The show is being promoted by CJ Milan, a name that’s fast becoming synonymous with high-powered Caribbean entertainment in the diaspora. Milan is still celebrating the success of Bounty Killa’s recent sold-out U.S. show on July 5th, which she spearheaded, and is wasting no time in delivering another major experience for fans of Jamaican music.
“Brooklyn has always been a second home to reggae and dancehall,” said Milan. “The lineup speaks for itself, and we’re not done yet. The headliner announcement is going to shake the place.”
With presold tickets already available, demand is high for what’s expected to be a completely sold-out show. Reggae Fest Massive joins a summer lineup of events further cementing Milan’s dominance in the live Caribbean entertainment space. She is also the force behind the much-talked-about Vybz Kartel concert scheduled for July 26 at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, another event generating buzz across Caribbean communities in the U.S. This will be Vybz Kartel’s first performance in the DMV in 20 years.
Dancehall continues to have an incredible comeback this year, with Reggae and Dancehall entertainers including Aidonia, Bounty Killa, Vybz Kartel, Alkaline and Masicka all delivering sold out large scale events in the United States.
As Brooklyn gears up to host this musical takeover, Reggae Fest Massive is shaping up to be the ultimate end-of-summer bash. Fans are advised to secure tickets early and prepare for a night of nonstop vibes, unforgettable performances, and a few surprises.
Presold tickets are now on sale.
