“The recognition of women in this year’s awards underscores the importance of their contributions to our culture and heritage. Their voices are vital to the vibrancy of Caribbean music,” stated the Caribbean Elite Group.

Marcia Griffiths, a legendary artist with a career spanning decades, continues to reach new heights. She is renowned for her critically acclaimed songs “I Shall Sing” and “All My Life,” and holds the record for the highest-selling single by a female reggae singer with her rendition of “Electric Boogie.” Griffiths is also widely recognized as a vocalist for the I-Threes, the backing vocalists for Bob Marley.

Alison Hinds, known as the “Queen of Soca,” has significantly impacted the genre with hit singles like “Fuluma” and “Roll It Gyal.” Her contributions have become ingrained in the DNA of Caribbean carnivals worldwide.

Cedella Marley, a 3x Grammy-winner and philanthropist, continues to enrich Caribbean culture through her music and social responsibility efforts, spanning fashion, arts, and more.

These prestigious honors recognize the unequivocal achievements of these world-renowned and highly acclaimed artists, with more honors set to be announced in the coming weeks.
