The play, which explores the lives of Jamaicans during the pandemic, promises an evening of laughter and entertainment for the whole family.

The pandemic took its toll on the touring calendars of Jamaican theater houses, including Jambiz, one of Jamaica’s most watched live theatrical companies in recent years. Therefore, the announcement of “Lockdown” making a stop on its U.S. tour in South Florida generated excitement in the local community.

Whirlwind Live Performances Inc., a Florida-based company known for producing plays, concerts, and club nights worldwide, now handles the promotions for Jambiz plays in the United States. With their joint effort, South Florida is poised to experience another round of sold-out performances.

Demand for tickets is high, with South Florida theater fans eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see top-notch Jamaican theater. However, due to the demands of live performances in Jamaica, touring, rehearsals, and actor schedules, there will be only one show in Miramar (at the Everglades High School) on, May 11, the eve of Mother’s Day and the finale at Coral Springs (at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts) on Mother’s Day, May 12. Tickets are on sale on https://whirlwindlive.net/.

As veteran comedian Oliver Samuels enters the twilight of his career, the spotlight now shines on Glen “Titus” Campbell as a potential successor to the title of the next King of Comedy. Campbell has not only delighted audiences worldwide with his comedic performances but has also left a lasting mark on Jamaican television with his work on JBC’s “Titus in Town.”

For those fortunate enough to secure tickets for their mothers this year, “Lockdown” promises an evening of guaranteed laughter for the entire family. With Campbell leading the cast, Patrick Brown’s “Lockdown” is sure to be a highlight of the Mother’s Day weekend entertainment lineup.
