The eagerly anticipated 13th staging of the Miss Miami Broward Carnival Pageant will take place at the Miramar Cultural Center on September 18.

In forty-five days, what’s expected to be a Caribbean cultural showdown of beautiful and talented young women on full display, will unfold as the four different coveted titles of Miss Miami Broward Carnival Queen, Junior Miss Miami Broward Carnival Queen, Pre-teen Miss Miami Broward Carnival Queen and Little Miss Miami Broward Carnival Queen are up for grabs.

Proud and dedicated Pageant founder, Yolanda Henry explained “we are determined to showcase something phenomenal with our stage director Sha’quan Johnson – we will be tying in how last year had an effect on all of us as a whole”, she told CNW.

Title winners will receive a plethora of enviable prizes including, scholarships, sashing, trophy, crowns, dinners, promotion for a year and appearances courtesy of sponsors of the pageant.

Applications for the competition will close on August 15, while those shortlisted will move forward to rigorous rehearsals, training, mentorship and preparations for the big crowning night.

Aspiring young women who are legal residents of the United States, ages 5-25, not married, natural born females and have no parental responsibilities are eligible to apply.

In 2005, the first ever Miss Miami Broward Carnival Pageant set the stage for what is now highly respected as a tradition for those of Caribbean heritage living in America. The importance of keeping the Caribbean culture alive and strong is something Miss Henry is extremely passionate about, as this is the core identity of immigrants and their offsprings from different islands of the Caribbean. The prestige of each title awarded to the winners, carry a lifetime of confidence, assurance and self-empowerment.
