Dancehall legend Bounty Killer will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring his groundbreaking role in shaping the global dancehall landscape. The award comes as he prepares for his highly anticipated return to the U.S. stage after fifteen years. The veteran artist is set to perform at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on July 5, as part of the Reggae Fest concert series.

Also being honored is Austin “Super Blue” Lyons, the Trinidadian soca pioneer widely credited with creating the genre’s now-standard “jump and wave” tradition. His 1991 hit “Get Something and Wave” ignited a carnival movement that continues to energize global celebrations. Super Blue will receive the esteemed Calypso Honors award.

Kerwin Du Bois, known for his multi-genre versatility and hit-making prowess as a producer and composer, will be recognized with a Producer Honor for his dynamic impact on Caribbean music production.

The third annual Caribbean Music Awards, dubbed “Caribbean Music’s Biggest Night,” will take place at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on August 28, 2025. Tickets are on sale now via Kings Theatre’s official website.

The 2025 edition of the annual event proudly showcases over 200 nominees across more than 40 categories. Voting wrapped up last month, giving participants the opportunity to select their favorite artists in each category. This year saw an impressive 73% increase in voting compared to previous years, a clear sign of the event’s significant and consistent growth. Masicka and Shenseea lead the charge with seven nominations each, while Patrice Roberts and Kes closely follow with six nominations apiece. Notable artists such as Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Nailah Blackman, Chronic Law, and Kranium have also made their mark, each receiving five nominations.
