The Miami center had a wonderful Christmas dinner which was served on decorated tables. Guests received new clothing items and hygiene when they finished their meal. The Regeneration band was on stage entertaining the crowd at our Angel Children event. This event is for the fathers in the regeneration program and their families. Over 40 resident clients had families in attendance to hear a Christmas message by Pastor Dan Sessa from Church in the Glades. Following the message, they celebrated the season with the regeneration band and with special guests Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elf.

The community parents were able to hear Reverend Faron O. Law from New Harvest Missionary Baptist share an amazing message from Matthew 1:18-25. “There’s Power, Healing, Deliverance and Liberty in the name of Jesus….” This event was about EMPOWERING the parents to be the heroes. After the message was delivered the families (who had pre-registered) went to pick up a large bag of toys, a box of food, and a Christmas tree to take home.

Over 750 children in Miami got a variety of very nice toys, stuffed animals, and coloring books (nearly 6,000 toys were given out by the mission in all campuses)thanks to the generosity of our many supporters . One guest broke down into tears when she received her large bag of toys she said “Is that for me?….oh my…I was not expecting this…the kids are going to love it.” Many families left blessed with an abundance of gifts to now go home and embrace the holiday. The Mission knows from past experience this method helps encourage and empower these families.  Families of the past have come back to be volunteers and “givers” because now they have a job and things have improved and they want to give back.

While the men and community were served, the women in both of the centers were at a special event called Winter Wonderland. This event was made possible by donors and partner KIND Birthdays led by Elle Montero which aided in providing decor, face Painters & food. Over 30 women and their children gathered for a special lunch and exchange of gifts with special guests Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elf.

Broward Outreach Center (BOC): Hollywood – Residents, plus 20 needy families, participated in our celebration and enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner filled with Hope, Love, Peace & Joy this Holiday Season. Local Pastor Joey opened the event in prayer. Guests received a meal, manicure, and toys to take home. “Hope Tote” bags filled with hygienic products and other necessary items were given to the needy at all campuses.

Attendee, Mary, said, “I came to this event as a single parent thinking I would just get gifts for my children and be on my way. But today the word made me realize the reason for the season and the blessings came to follow. I was on the verge of tears when all the blessings I received became too much to hold in my hands. I was not expecting to receive all the gifts, food and joy that I got at this event. I cannot wait to go home and enjoy this Christmas with my kids. Being a single parent the holidays are always hard for me. This is really something to be thankful for. Y’all are blessing me, my kids, and all these people here today.”

Reverend Ronald Brummitt, President of MRM | BOC said, “I love our Great Christmas Events because we not only serve the homeless and needy, but low-income, at risk families in our community. It’s so fun to see all the families here — parents are so grateful to be able to provide toys for their children, and the kids just have a blast watching the play and singing with the band. The trees are an awesome touch too, we just want to bless families and remind them they don’t have to feel distressed during the holidays.”

Miami Rescue Mission| Broward Outreach Centers is grateful to the very generous support of donors, volunteers, and corporate partnerships that make it possible to bless residents and neediest of South Florida with life-changing services and donated items.
