A Saint Martin national has pleaded guilty to serious charges involving violations of federal narcotics and firearms laws in the United States.
Drug distribution scheme
Hector Concepcion, the 35-year-old man at the center of this case, admitted to his involvement in a criminal conspiracy aimed at distributing illegal narcotics.
Concepcion confessed to collaborating with associates to distribute and possess substantial quantities of crack cocaine, exceeding 28 grams, along with heroin in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Illegal firearm possession exacerbates charges
Compounding his legal troubles, Concepcion also admitted to unlawfully possessing a firearm.
This act directly contravenes federal regulations that strictly prohibit firearms possession by individuals who are either illegally residing in the United States or are foreigners admitted on a non-immigrant visa.
Sentencing
Reports are that United States Senior District Judge Kim R. Gibson is scheduled to sentence Concepcion on July 8, 2024.
Concepcion, who was living in the United States illegally faces a potential maximum sentence of up to 40 years in prison.
Additionally, he could be subjected to a substantial fine, possibly reaching as much as US$5 million.
