Miramar Cultural Center Shines the Spotlight on Poets & Prose Writers

The Miramar Cultural Center (MCC) is holding an open call for poetry submissions from the South Florida community.

Individuals of all ages are invited to submit their original work through poetry or prose under the theme- Within the Mask- My Summer 2020. 

Camasha Cevieux, Director at the Miramar Cultural Center stated, “We are so excited to be able to present this unique opportunity to allow writers to showcase their talent and express their creativity especially during the pandemic. This has been a challenging summer and it will be great to view individuals’ perspectives through their own lenses.” 

Submissions can be any length, must be hand-written, typed or video recorded and include the title of work, the author’s first and last name, and the author’s age group- either 12 years or under, 13-17 years old or 18 years and older. 

All submissions must be in print form and e-mailed to Education@MiramarCulturalCenter.org however, in addition, individuals may choose to submit a video presenting their work. Videos can be uploaded to the individual’s social media page with a tag to @MiramarCultural to be featured on the Miramar Cultural Center’s Instagram and Facebook pages. The deadline for submission is August 31, 2020. 

All submissions will be considered for publishing on the Miramar Cultural Center website at MiramarCulturalCenter.org, featured on the Miramar Cultural Center’s social media pages, including the MCC Live 2 U Virtual Programming on YouTube @MiramarCultural.
