Officers responding to a call of an assault in progress around 6:10 a.m. found the victim, Ashley Smith, outside a two-family home on Oakley St. near E. 219th St. in Williamsbridge, cops said.

The woman was unconscious, suffering from a deep gash to the neck, cops said.

EMS rushed Smith to Jacobi Hospital, where she died of her injuries a short time later.

Smith lived in Mount Vernon, about three miles from where she was killed. It was not immediately clear why she was in the Bronx Saturday morning.

One neighbor said the house near where the Jamaican woman was slashed was a frequent host to wild parties on the otherwise bucolic street.

“I am totally frustrated with the system. The cops have been here many times to deal with issues. This place is always like this,” said Marie to the New York Daily News.

No arrests have been made. The motive behind the attack was under investigation, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

Cops were tracking down surveillance footage that could help identify Smith’s attacker.
