Senior political and tourism figures from across the region will converge in New York next month for Caribbean Week in New York 2026, a flagship event aimed at strengthening collaboration and shaping the future of the region’s tourism industry.

Governor Albert Bryan Jr. of the U.S. Virgin Islands, Premier Natalio Wheatley of the British Virgin Islands, and Ian Gooding-Edghill, Barbados Minister of Tourism and International Transport and chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), are among the high-level leaders set to participate.

Organised by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the event opens Monday, June 1, at the InterContinental New York Times Square, coinciding with the start of Caribbean American Heritage Month. This year’s theme, “One Caribbean: Infinite Experiences,” will guide a week of meetings, policy discussions and promotional events focused on regional tourism development.

CTO Secretary-General Dona Regis-Prosper said the gathering remains a vital platform for advancing regional cooperation and showcasing the Caribbean’s tourism strengths. “Caribbean Week in New York is a critical platform for collaboration, strategy development and celebration of our region’s tourism industry,” she said.

Governor Bryan is expected to deliver remarks at the opening ceremony, joined by tourism ministers, commissioners, directors and industry stakeholders from across the Caribbean. Premier Wheatley will take part in a featured discussion titled “Around the Caribbean in 60 Minutes” alongside the CTO Council of Ministers, while Minister Gooding-Edghill will deliver the opening keynote address.

The programme will include a series of strategic sessions covering tourism leadership, marketing strategy, airlift expansion, sustainability and innovation in the sector. Additional highlights include an all-day marketing conference, the Caribbean Media Awards, the CTO Foundation Scholarship Awards luncheon, the launch of CTO TV, and a media and travel trade marketplace designed to connect regional destinations with global partners.

Organisers say the event continues to serve as a key space for aligning regional tourism policy with industry trends, while promoting the Caribbean as a unified and competitive global destination.
