Recently, Lowe was instrumental in the establishment of the Victor Lowe Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Centre at Manning’s School in Westmoreland, Jamaica.

Significantly, he funded 80 percent of the construction costs.

He further honed his skills at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of California, Davis.

This academic excellence fast-tracked him into global roles in scientific research, manufacturing, telecommunications, and finance.

Trailblazing in business and media

Throughout his career, Lowe has occupied senior management roles in global corporations like M&M Mars, Pillsbury, and Carnation/Nestle.

He also held executive leadership roles at Cool Car Corporation.

His groundbreaking work has been the subject of cover and feature stories in prominent publications such as Business Age, Black Enterprise, and Ebony magazines.

In his home country, Lowe founded Pathway Technologies, a state-of-the-art call center in Kingston that provides training and employment opportunities for young people.

Breaking monopolies and creating opportunities

Lowe’s entrepreneurial spirit was particularly evident when he secured the first international telecommunications license in Jamaica, thus disrupting the Cable & Wireless monopoly.

He later founded Jamaica Communications Ltd and World Telenet International, thereby expanding telecommunications access and introducing the first free Internet service for schools in Jamaica.

Navigating global capital: A focus on community

Currently, Lowe heads Global Capital Ltd, a US-based organization offering financing options to consumers and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Even with these ongoing ventures, his commitment to philanthropy and community development remains unshaken.

Victor Lowe’s multifaceted contributions stand as a testament to the potent blend of ambition, education, and a desire to give back to the community. With his Order of Distinction, he will join a lineage of leaders whose works have indelibly impacted society.
