The Best of the Best Concert organizers have announced their star-studded lineup for the 2019 show, which will take place on May 26 in Downtown, Miami.
At the media launch on May 7 at the Barter Wynwood, guests were entertained by DJ Fergie and enjoyed Caribbean cuisine from Donna’s Restaurant, a sponsor of the event that will also be live at the venue. The concert organizers promised an exciting and fun-filled event which will feature Dancehall and Soca newcomers as well as many veteran artists from Dancehall and Reggae.
The publicist for the event, Ronnie Tomlinson shared with the media, the concept for this year’s lineup, stating that “the organizers wanted to highlight the new young solid talents in dancehall and soca, as well as pay homage to 90s dancehall.” With artists like Frisco Kid, General B, General Degree, Round Head, and Bushman on the lineup, Tomlinson says “there is already a sense of nostalgia that comes over is as we think 90s dancehall and hear some of these names. Yet we must also know and share with our listeners, followers and viewers, that history will take place on Sunday, May 26 as Shabba Ranks and Supercat share the same stage in the United States for the first time.”
Guest performer at the media launch was rising reggae artist Jahmiel, who is also slated to perform at this year’s Best of the Best. Also on the lineup are dancehall icons Shabba Ranks and Super Cat along with Alkaline, Stylo G, Vanessa Bling and Noah Powa.
