Air Canada to Resume Flights to Jamaica in May

Air Canada _travel ban

After being away from the island since January due to a travel ban, Jamaican-Canadians will soon be able to travel to Jamaica.

At the start of the year, Canada’s main airlines, including Air Canada and WestJet, suspended all flights to sun destinations at the request of the federal government.

The ban on travel to the Caribbean will expire on April 30 and Air Canada has already announced a resumption of flights in May.

Air Canada said will operate three flights per week from Toronto to Mexico City starting May 3, and one flight per week from Toronto to Kingston, Jamaica, and Bridgetown, Barbados beginning May 5 and May 9, respectively.

Senior Strategist for Jamaica’s tourism ministry, Delano Seiveright shared the news saying that a return of Canadian tourism is great news for Jamaica and for nationals living in Canada.
