Internationally acclaimed pop star Rihanna, has called for an end to gun violence in her homeland of Barbados.
The announcement came following the fatal shooting of her 21 year old cousin, Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne, in Barbados, last night. The police report that Tavon was killed as he was walking along a track in the vicinity of his house when he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
“RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms!” she posted on Instagram Tuesday. “Never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!”
Rihanna added the hastag #endgunviolence to the emotional post.
