Suriname’s National Assembly Speaker Marinus Bee leads delegation to India

National Assembly Speaker in Suriname, Marinus Bee, is in India spearheading a prominent delegation that includes leaders from the Progressive Reform Party and the leading opposition group, the National Democratic Party.

The visit follows that of a delegation from the lower house of India’s bicameral Parliament in August 2022, which was led by the Speaker.

Exploring bilateral cooperation

Bee emphasizes the significance of their discussions with their Indian counterparts.

The focal point of their meetings is the implementation of the declaration of intent. This declaration seeks to catalyze and deepen cooperation between the two parliaments, reinforcing their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The parliamentary delegation returns next week.
