This initiative aims to boost Jamaica’s presence and competitive edge on the international stage.

Spearheading this vision, Orville Palmer, the Ministry’s Chief Technical Director, emphasizes the necessity for strengthening bonds among local exporters to achieve this goal.

Navigating global competition for a sustainable future

Palmer highlighted the importance of Jamaica’s agricultural sector remaining competitive in the rapidly evolving global market.

With the increasing significance of food security worldwide, he pointed out that Jamaica’s agricultural practices and export strategies must meet international standards.

This approach is crucial not only for the industry’s current success but also for its sustainability and legacy.

During the New Face of Food Fresh Produce Exporters’ Forum in Montego Bay, Palmer shared insights into the strategies for enhancing Jamaica’s export market.

The forum served as a critical platform for dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in the agricultural export sector.

Building resilience and innovation in agriculture

Expressing confidence in Jamaica’s ability to overcome challenges, Palmer praised the country’s exporters for their relentless pursuit of knowledge and innovative practices that drive the export market forward.

He reiterated the importance of continuous investment and partnership to elevate the sector further.

A collaborative path to global market success

The event underscored the Ministry’s dedication to fostering collaboration with exporters and stakeholders, highlighting its role in promoting Jamaica’s agricultural exports on the global stage.

Through ongoing discussions and problem-solving initiatives, the Ministry aims to address the challenges faced by exporters, thereby facilitating smoother access to international markets.
