MIAMI, Florida – The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will celebrate the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America by welcoming nearly 7,500 new citizens in nearly 110 naturalization ceremonies from July 1 and July 5. The naturalization ceremonies will be held in venues across the country and include several notable ceremonies.
USCIS Supervisor Iris Garcia will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America’s newest citizens during a special naturalization ceremony at Everglades National Park on Wednesday, July 3. The keynote speech will be delivered by Maria Thompson, community engagement specialist for Everglades National Park.
Everglades National Park is a World Heritage Site and international biosphere reserve and habitat for numerous rare and endangered species.
The 15 citizens originate from the following countries: Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru and Venezuela.
Acting Director Kenneth Cuccinelli will deliver congratulatory remarks to 52 new Americans at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on July 2, while that same day, Deputy Director Mark Koumans will deliver congratulatory remarks to the new citizens at a ceremony onboard the USS Constitution.
