At the Miami campus over 1,500 guests attend the annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet. The Miami event was made possible by many giving partners and special thanks is given to the Elegant family and their supporters. The Elegant Family started a movement with their friends and family…and raised over $10,000! They have been supporting the cause and volunteering for some 9 years.

The Medina Foundation, Royal Caribbean, the Miami Woman’s Club, Global Realty & Management Inc., Payer& Associates, MGM Case Management Services, Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, Beverly Crawford from State Farm as well as TJ Maxx sponsored the Miami event.

The Miami Center hosted the Miami Dade Nursing College volunteers that provided medical checkups for the guests. A make-shift barber shop was also onsite, with barbers and hairdressers who volunteered for the event. Also 9,000 articles of clothing were distributed and over 2,000 “Mission Hope” bags filled with hygienic products and other necessary items were given to the needy at all three campuses.

Intake tables at all 3 campuses encouraged guests to make the decision to enter one of the life-changing programs offered by The Caring Place. Nearly 70 men made that choice to come off the streets of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Ministry teams were seen throughout the outreaches, praying with people individually as needed and requested.

At the Hollywood campus, over 500 guests were served by over 130 volunteers. A special Thanksgiving Speech was made by Pastor Samantha Williams. Guests and residents were entertained by Scott Evan Productions. Arts Academy of Hollywood brought joy with their dancing. Courtney Group provided services for the women and children that included: face painting, arts and for the women make up as well as pedicures and manicures. Thanksgiving Baskets were donated by Boy Scout Troop #258 for all families and children along with Mission Hopes Hygiene bags, clothing and shoe give away.
