Cuban Artist Camila Cabello speaks up for Dreamers
Cuban-born recording artist, Camila Cabello, took a strong stance for Dreamers and DACA recipients at the Grammy’s, insisting that she too was a ‘Dreamer.’
Cabello’s speech came ahead of her introduction of U2 for a performance on the Hudson with the Statue of Liberty as the background. Both Cabello’s speech and U2’s performance were a poignant spotlight on the immigration debate that is raging in the US under the Donald Trump administration as the band performed: “Get Out of Your Own Way.”
M·A·C Cosmetics Launches Trinidad Carnival Collection
Makeup giant M·A·C Cosmetics has launched an exclusive Carnival pro-collection, specially designed with masqueraders in mind, LoopTT reported. The collection includes three lipsticks, three glosses, five eyeshadows, an eyeliner and waterproof mascara.
“This is the first time we’re launching a collection here in Trinidad,” M·A·C Director of Makeup Artistry, Romero Jennings, was quoted as saying. “M·A·C has never done a Carnival collection before so this is amazing.“I’m from Jamaica and I’m so proud to be here.”
This is also the first time that M·A·C will be selling pro products in Trinidad.
Trinidad & Tobago Soca Monarch Finalists
The finalists are in for the 2018 T&T soca monarch competition. They are: Aaron Duncan, Ambi, Asten Isaac, Yankee Boy & Rikki Jai, Blaxx, Farmer Nappy, Jadel, M1, Marzville, Orlando Octave, Rome, Turner and defending champion Voice. The finals of the competition is set for February 9th when TT$300,000 will be up for grabs.
