Lauderhill City officials have issued a precautionary boil water notice for residents along a stretch of North University Drive after a water main break disrupted the distribution system.
The notice, released Friday (May 9, 2026), affects customers residing at addresses from 4401 to 4991 N. University Drive. The city said the break prompted immediate safety measures to ensure public health while repairs are underway.
As a precaution, the City of Lauderhill Utilities Department is advising residents to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Officials recommend bringing water to a rolling boil for at least one minute. Bottled water is also an acceptable alternative during the advisory period.
The notice will remain in effect until repairs are completed and bacteriological testing confirms the water supply is safe for consumption. City officials said affected residents will be notified once the advisory is lifted.
For questions or additional information, residents can contact the Lauderhill Utilities Department at 954-730-4225.
City officials have not yet provided a timeline for when the boil water notice will be lifted.
