The designation reflects the district’s expanding network of schools and educators promoting environmental stewardship through hands-on learning experiences and sustainability programs.

Currently, 11 schools within the district have earned recognition as Guy Harvey Conservation Schools, while 86 educators have received designation as Guy Harvey Conservation Educators.

“Receiving recognition as a Guy Harvey Conservation District reflects Broward County Public Schools dedication to empowering students through environmental education,” said BCPS Superintendent Howard Hepburn.

“When students engage in hands-on conservation and marine science experiences, they gain the knowledge, leadership skills and sense of responsibility needed to become thoughtful stewards of our planet and advocates for a more sustainable future,” he added.

The Guy Harvey Conservation School designation recognizes schools that incorporate environmental awareness and conservation into classroom instruction, campus culture and student activities.
