In a press statement released Wednesday, Rubio highlighted the enduring ties between Jamaica and the United States, rooted in security cooperation and shared economic interests.

“On behalf of the United States, I extend my warm congratulations to the people of Jamaica as they celebrate 63 years of independence,” the statement read.

Rubio commended Jamaica’s efforts to reduce violent crime and boost private-sector growth, noting that these initiatives not only strengthen Jamaica’s national development but also enhance regional stability and benefit both countries.

“Our collaboration strengthens both our nations by disrupting criminal networks, promoting investment, and supporting regional stability. I commend Jamaica’s ongoing efforts to reduce violent crime and foster private-sector growth. These efforts benefit both Americans and Jamaicans and reinforce our shared commitment to prosperity and national sovereignty,” he stated.

As the Caribbean nation marked its milestone anniversary, Rubio affirmed the United States’ intent to deepen bilateral cooperation: “We look forward to further strengthening our partnership and wish the people of Jamaica a joyful Independence Day.”

The message underscores the U.S. government’s continued support for Jamaica’s development goals and its key role in regional security and economic resilience.
