Trinidadian Verlyn Foley joins Alexander Goshen as VP of Affordable Housing

Alexander Goshen, a Fort Lauderdale-based real estate development and investment firm, has appointed Verlyn Foley as Vice President of Affordable Housing for its AG Urban division. Foley, a seasoned real estate executive originally from Trinidad and Tobago, will lead the company’s efforts to expand equitable housing solutions across Florida and other U.S. markets.

In her new role, Foley will oversee the development and execution of affordable housing projects from site acquisition through stabilization and compliance. Her responsibilities include structuring complex financing packages—such as Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), HUD programs, and public-private partnerships—while ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

“Verlyn’s visionary leadership, expertise in real estate development and ability to navigate the complexities of affordable housing, along with her excellence in strategic leadership, make her an invaluable addition to our team,” said Miles Alexander III, principal and managing partner of Alexander Goshen.

Verlyn Foley brings over $500 million in development experience, having led the construction and advisory of multifamily and single-family housing projects across Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, and Connecticut. Before joining Alexander Goshen, she founded VOB Development, an Atlanta-based firm, and made history as the first African American woman to develop properties in Jackson, Mississippi, using the LIHTC model.

“I am committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable, and accessible housing for underserved communities, especially at such a pivotal time in Alexander Goshen’s growth,” said Foley. “I’m proud to help shape housing solutions that foster opportunity and dignity for residents.”

Foley’s appointment reflects Alexander Goshen’s ongoing investment in leadership to support its growing portfolio. The firm has developed nearly $400 million in real estate projects and is currently active in South Florida, Fort Myers, and St. Petersburg.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada.

Founded in 2014, Alexander Goshen is a privately owned, well-capitalized real estate development and investment firm headquartered in Fort Lauderdale.
