A 14-year-old boy is recovering in stable condition after being shot during an altercation in Miami-Dade on Saturday evening, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting occurred around 5:49 p.m. in the vicinity of 800 NW 7th Street. Investigators with the General Investigations Unit say a verbal dispute between two individuals escalated when one of them pulled out a firearm and shot the teenager. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Friends of the victim rushed him to the nearest hospital. He was later transferred to Ryder Trauma Center for further treatment. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.
The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
