CANOUAN, St Vincent and the Grenadines — Police are investigating the discovery of what appears to be decomposed human remains aboard a boat that washed ashore in Canouan, St. Vincent on Monday morning.
According to a statement from the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), the vessel came ashore in the Southern Grenadines between 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. on May 26. During an initial inspection, law enforcement officers found what they described as “decomposed human remains” onboard.
“The identities and circumstances surrounding the discovery are yet to be determined,” the statement said.
Police say the investigation is active and ongoing. The RSVGPF has pledged to provide additional information as it becomes available and is urging anyone with knowledge that could assist the inquiry to come forward.
