This initiative aims to empower cannabis entrepreneurs and those curious about the industry by providing valuable insights and knowledge. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The University of the West Indies, Regional Headquarters, located at 2A Hermitage Road, Ramson Room, Kingston, St. Andrew Parish.

The “Get in the Biz Roadshow” is a series of innovative one-day conferences designed for individuals interested in the rapidly growing cannabis industry. After successful events in Toronto, Canada, and various states in the U.S., including Florida, New York, and Illinois, the Kingston conference marks the roadshow’s last international stop for the year.

This event caters to both newcomers and seasoned industry professionals looking to expand their enterprises. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore diverse business avenues and gain insights into key areas such as cultivation, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, technology, and professional services. Additionally, the roadshow will introduce the Cannabiz Builder Incubator Program, showcasing the extensive training and resources available through Cannabiziac.

Ann Marie Sorrell, President and Founder of Cannabiziac, expressed the importance of the roadshow, stating, “Our roadshow is designed to offer entrepreneurs a space to explore opportunities in the industry utilizing their current skill sets, experience, and resources. Whether you’re new to cannabis or looking to expand, this event provides a unique opportunity to learn from industry thought leaders and connect with peers and cannabis enthusiasts.”

The conference will kick off with three morning sessions covering topics such as Cannabis 101, Opportunities in the Jamaican and Global Cannabis Industries, and Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship. After a networking lunch, participants will engage in an afternoon session focused on building their cannabis business through case study development. Attendees will also have the chance to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges for an opportunity to win a scholarship for the upcoming Spring Business Incubator Cohort, valued at over $5,000 USD, along with one year of business mentorship. The day will conclude with a networking hour.

The event is open to the public, with registration priced at 9,126 JMD. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite, through Cannabiziac’s website, or at the University of the West Indies on the day of the event.
