Reggae Boyz Vice-Captain Damion Lowe, in partnership with PrintWare Group, has made a significant contribution to the Stimulation Early Childhood Development Centre in Rockfort, Kingston—his childhood community.
The donation, which includes a multifunction printer and four television sets, is aimed at improving the educational experience for children with special needs attending the school.
The multifunction printer, valued at over J$1 million, comes with a lifetime service package that ensures continuous support. The package includes unlimited ink and toner, preventative maintenance, service calls, and remote monitoring. Meanwhile, the television sets will enhance the Centre’s use of audio-visual tools in classroom learning, following a direct request from the school to aid in interactive education.
Incredibly grateful
The Stimulation Early Childhood Development Centre, which opened in 2018, caters to over 190 children facing various disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, developmental delays, sensory impairments, and behavioural challenges like ADHD.
Principal Antonica Gunter-Gayle expressed her appreciation for the donation: “These new resources will help us create and print more educational materials, and the TV sets will bring more visual learning into the classroom. We are incredibly grateful to Damion Lowe and PrintWare Group for their support.”
Dominique Walker, CEO of PrintWare Group, echoed the sentiment, stating: “We’re proud to contribute to enriching the learning environment at the Centre. The multifunction printer and TV sets will offer students new ways to engage with educational content.”
Urging others to step forward
Lowe, who has long supported his Rockfort community, shared his pride in giving back: “It means a lot to me to be able to help, especially when it comes to supporting students with special needs. The teachers and caregivers here do an amazing job, and I’m happy to contribute in any way I can.”
Lowe also highlighted the ongoing needs of the school, urging others to step forward: “There’s still a need for more TV sets and air conditioning units for the classrooms. I encourage anyone who can to help meet this need.”
Lowe has been active in his community since 2021, hosting annual Christmas treats for over 300 children in Rockfort. PrintWare Group, known for its managed print services, is also the operator of Jamaica’s only authorized Apple service center, PrintWare Tech.
