The Jamaica Volleyball Association (JaVA) has officially announced the players for the Jamaican U19 boys’ and girls’ teams set to compete in the 2024 CAZOVA U19 boys and birls Volleyball Championships.
This highly anticipated event will be held at G C Foster College of Physical Education and Sport from July 26 to August 4, 2024, promising an exhilarating display of young athletic prowess.
The CAZOVA Championships will gather teams from across the region, each vying for the prestigious title. For Jamaica, this tournament represents a prime opportunity for young athletes to gain valuable international experience and visibility. The selected players, after undergoing intense preparation, are ready to showcase their talents and proudly represent their country, bolstered by the enthusiastic support of local fans.
Toshiro Jones to lead the boys’ team
Leading the Jamaican U19 boys’ team is Toshiro Jones from Wolmer’s Boys, who will serve as captain. Jones will be accompanied by Joshua Auboine of Oracabessa High School, Schillachi Batchelor from St. Jago High School, and Jordyn-Rhy Davis of Jamaica College. Other key players include Renaldo Doeman from Mannings School, David Douglas from Wolmer’s Boys, and Malik Ferron and Ajani Gordon, both from St. Jago High School.
The team is rounded out by Jantje Neil and Edward Sterling from Wolmer’s Boys, Ithran Softley from Papine High School, and Nicholas Watson from Suncoast Community High School.
Head Coach Adrian Ramdeen will guide the boys through the competition, with support from Assistant Coach Adrian James and Team Manager Travis Clarke.
The Jamaica U19 girls’ team is captained by Kalia Baker from Paint Branch High School. Baker leads a dynamic team that includes Ria Bertram of Campion College, Patrina Chisholm from Wolmer’s High School for Girls, and Morgan Esmie of Blessed Trinity Catholic High School.

Other strong players are Tashari Gordon from Knox College, Jada-Lee Grant from St. Jago High School, and Mary Massias from The Rock School. Winnifred Mitchell from Stouffville District Secondary School, Quaciann Stewart from Wolmer’s High School for Girls, and Treviann Taylor from Knox College will also contribute their talents.
The team is completed by Ava Grace Troyer from Hiland High School and Hadijah Wallace from Knox College. Head Coach O’Neil Ebanks will lead the girls, with Colin Rose as Assistant Coach and Erica Harris as Team Manager.
As the Jamaican teams prepare for the 2024 CAZOVA Championships, excitement and anticipation are mounting.
